[Resident Evil | original game lore] If Wesker allowed himself to want something purely for himself with no tactical reason behind it, what do you think it would be?
If we keep in mind that he was basically groomed as a child...
If Wesker were to actually listen inward for once and pay attention to his own wishes, the ones coming from the heart he still very much has, or once had, and if it were to dawn on him what was actually done to him, what he was put through, how his childhood got stolen from him, then he'd wanna live out that lost childhood, or at least develop the wish to turn back time, to protect the baby he once was from his kidnappers as an adult.
He was kidnapped as an infant, just like everyone from Project W. Umbrella Corporation agents systematically kidnapped small children worldwide whose parents had above-average intelligence. The kids were raised under strict psychological conditioning and injected with a prototype of the Progenitor Virus. Not all of 'em survived it. Only two kids, exactly.
There's Alex on one hand — grew up into a woman — later died by suicide (gunshot to the head) mutated because of the T-Phobos Virus, then got fought and taken down by Claire Redfield, Moira Burton, and Barry Burton.
And on the other hand there's Albert Wesker himself, who met his end in a volcano. 🫠 Lore-wise speaking of course. In my headcanon he's still alive, and will be for a long time too, so no worries. 😄
